Published Mar 26, 2009If you were reading our Click Hear section last week, you would have seen a nice little introduction to the hotly tipped La Roux. It's the moniker of choice for Elly Jackson, a flame-haired, 20-year-old Brixton native with a mean '80s obsession and a sweet new single, "In for the Kill." Well, Miss Jackson has announced that she's heading to North America next month and will treat a handful of cities to some live dates, including Montreal on April 4 and Toronto on April 5.
The new road trip comes as La Roux wraps up a UK tour with Lily Allen, and as Jackson gears up for her full-length debut, which will be out sometime later this year on Polydor. The dates also coincide with a domestic North American release of La Roux's Quicksand EP, a three-track teaser due out next month that will include the title track, a Mad Decent remix and the Exclaim!-approved dubstep makeover of "In for the Kill" by Skream.
With luck, you'll be able to find physical copies of that release at these tour dates:
4/3 Brooklyn, NY - Studio B
4/4 Montreal, QC - Les Saints
4/5 Toronto, ON - The Drake
4/9 San Francisco, CA - 330 Ritch
4/12 Los Angeles, CA - Roxy
