Kylesa

"Vulture's Landing"

Nineties alt-rock-leaning crust combo Kylesa have unveiled yet another track off their impending Ultraviolet LP, with the latest sneak peek going to swirling new number "Vulture's Landing."

The thick, distorted and detuned melee of guitar chords conjures the sludginess of the band's early days, but guttural roars have been swapped out in favour of guitarist/vocalist Laura Pleasants' dream-weaving coos. Things get especially grungy in the mid-section, where a wah-wah-utilizing, Dirt-era Alice in Chains-styled solo runs wild atop a half-time tribal beat supported by some conga drumming.

As previously reported, Ultraviolet drops May 28 through Season of Mist and will be supported with a North American tour that has Kylesa hitting Vancouver, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. You can peep the show details here.
