The world of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is more than a little wild. Whether rocking skeleton afros and vampire teeth or doing her thing in surreal candy-coated fantasy lands, the Harajuku kawaii princess is taking the art of creative freeform to seriously new levels. Sadly, though, this is too often for Japanese audiences only, making news of her upcoming "KPP Nanda Collection World Tour" welcome indeed.
In support of her 2013 sophomore album Nanda Collection, the bona fide Japanese superstar and fashion icon will be taking her sugary-sweet but creatively charged J-pop out across North America this winter, hitting up one Canadian city in the process. While Pamyu Pamyu starts off the trek on the West Coast on February 13 in Seattle before playing San Francisco, L.A. and Chicago, she will also touch down in Toronto on March 7.
From there she will play one more North American show in New York City before taking the tour overseas. You can see the detailed schedule below.
Along with making the rare North American trek, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu will also be releasing a new single next month. On February 26, she will deliver a single for "Yume No Hajima-Ring Ring" via Warner Music Japan.
The track recently premiered in an ad for Japanese real estate company Chintai, though in a very abridge form, and as usual was written and produced by Yasutaka Nakata (also the brains behind Perfume). Along with A-side, the five-track release comes with an instrumental version, the B-side "Slo Mo" and an extended mix of "Mottainai."
Yume no Hajima-Ring Ring will come as a regular edition CD, as well as a deluxe version with a DVD and different artwork. You can order the single here and check out the tracklist below the tour dates.
