Kvelertak

"Månelyst" (video)

Just as Kvelertak's music pays homage to the metal, punk, hardcore and rock bands that came before them, the Norwegian group's new video for "Månelyst" tips its hat to decades of freaky horror flicks.

Atop the outfit's hard-rocking blend of furious six-string licks and demonic screeches, the visual pastiche trots out some chainsaw-wielding sickos, bloodied-up victims running down open roads, a werewolf transformation scene, and some Blair Witch-styled handheld cam action. If you're squeamish at the sight of blood, maybe hold back on this one, as there's a ton of shots of mucked-up hammers, grisly tooth-pullings and more.

"Månelyst" comes from the band's sophomore set Meir, which Roadrunner Records drops on March 26. But you can also currently stream the entire album here on Exclaim.ca.

As previously reported, Kvelertak are also hitting North America this spring with the likes of Cancer Bats and Black Tusk, with Canadian shows lined up in Vancouver with the former in Vancouver and with the latter in Toronto and Montreal. You can check the show details here.
