Kurt Vile Announces Smoke Ring for My Halo LP
When Kurt Vile dropped the recent single "In My Time," Matador announced that it was a teaser for his upcoming album, which was slated for release in 2011. Now we have the full details for the new LP, which will be called Smoke Ring for My Halo and drop on March 8.

In an announcement on the Matablog, the label calls it "easily his most ambitious work to date," as well as "less genre/period-specific yet far more focused & powerful" than Vile's previous works. It recorded with producer John Agnello, who has previously worked with Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. and the Hold Steady. Sessions took place in a variety of studios in Philadelphia, PA, Hoboken, NJ, and New York City.
