Published Apr 30, 2014Kurt Cobain conspiracy theorists are going to have a field day with this one: slightly more than 20 years since the Nirvana frontman's death, the Seattle police have revealed that the singer had a note about his wife Courtney Love in his wallet, and it's not particularly flattering.
A photo of the note was released by the police in response to a public information request filed by CBS News regarding the evidence surrounding Cobain's death. A parody of wedding vows, it reads, "Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawfully shredded wife even when she's a bitch with zits and siphoning all yr money for doping and whoring…"
The note appears to continue, but this is not shown in the photograph. The words were written on note paper from San Francisco's Phoenix Hotel.
Of course, it's unknown when exactly the note was written, and there's no way to know if it was intended as a personal attack against Love or a send-up of wedding vows more generally. Certainly, this seems to be a very different perspective from the views espoused by Cobain's suicide note, which called Love "a goddess of a wife who sweats ambition and empathy."
This is just the latest in a string of evidence to be released from Cobain's death scene.
UPDATE: According to new reports, the letter may have been written by Love not Cobain, something that should put a stop to any new conspiracies brewing out there.
