Calgary art-rock group Kue Varo and the Only Hopes have announced the upcoming arrival of their sophomore album Cowboy Witchcraft, due out on October 13.

The project will mark the band's first full-length release in nearly three years following lead singer Kue Varo's 2021 solo effort Daffodil 11.

Although they have yet to share further details on Cowboy Witchcraft outside of its title, the band shared in a press release that they'll lean into a country-inspired sound on the album, which makes sense considering JUNO-winning Jann Arden collaborator Russell Broom is responsible for the production throughout the entire album.

Lead single "Yip Yip" arrives today alongside the album announcement.

"Homesick, I was listening to a lot of Roger Miller and fantasizing about getting on a horse, picking up a babe who wanted to jet with me and starting over," said Varo. "This whole scenario basically happened and the babes were all my sweet bandmates."

Listen to "Yip Yip" below as we await more information on Cowboy Witchcraft ahead of its release this fall.
