Kodak Black Walks Out of Hot 97 Interview When Asked About Rape Allegations

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Dec 13, 2018

Kodak Black has been making appearances on tracks by Metro Boomin, Gucci Mane and A Boogie wit da Hoodie before his own Dying to Live arrives tomorrow (December 14), but the rapper's appearance on Hot 97 yesterday didn't go quite so smoothly.

The 21-year-old rapper sat down with DJ Ebro, Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez for a chat, but when his upcoming sexual assault trial was brought up, Kodak walked out on the interview.

The rapper has been accused of raping a woman in a hotel room in southern California in 2016.

15 minutes into the interview, Ebro mentioned the "sensitive" subject of the current rape allegations against Kodak, and invited him back to discuss the case after it goes to court in April.

"We take sexual assault here serious," Ebro said. "We can't get into details, but we hope to have you back, so that we can have a deeper conversation about that. It's a serious topic, we're hearing these stories a lot."

Ebro then noted that his guest has become uncomfortable, and Kodak responded by accusing people of treating "going through shit" as entertainment. He asked that the subject be changed, but when Rosenberg attempted to direct the discussion to conspiracy theories about the moon landing, Kodak said he was "done" and walked out.

Ebro has since taken to Twitter to explain, "I was tryna have a balanced convo with Kodak Black & not ignore the serious allegations against him but also not ask specifics to make his situation worse… and he wanna get an attitude with me?? Nah."
