Kittie

Safe

Combining remixes with live recordings was an interesting choice for Kittie's latest EP. KMFDM's Sascha adds a haunting industrial kick to the otherwise slow-paced and dull single "Safe," but the radio edit, directly following the KMFDM mix, is frightful. But listening to the high polish studio versions back-to-back with the loose and undisciplined live tracks from Kittie's two previous full-length offerings, Oracle and Spit, makes the flaws of the latter very obvious. This EP has no flow and is actually evidence to how far Kittie has gone to appeal to the masses on their most recent record, a fact that wasn't as apparent on Oracle. The only action Safe inspired was pulling out some old KMFDM records.
