KISS have completed their final tour, and now that they've retired from touring, they've set their sights on passing the torch to holograms. Having unveiled their own digital avatars at their final show in New York, they've now set a launch date for their next era of touring: 2027.

KISS have shared a short teaser video featuring Gene Simmons saying the words, "We can live on eternally." It ends by flashing "2027" up on the screen, along with a slogan: "A show is coming." The video is hashtagged #KISSAVATARS.

These avatars were created by the same companies that created ABBA's holograms: George Lucas's special effects company Industrial Light & Magic, along with Pophouse Entertainment Group.

What exactly the hologram show will be remains to be seen. "We're going to figure it out after the tour," Pophouse's Per Sundin told Fast Company. "Is it a KISS concert in the future? Is it a rock opera? Is it a musical? A story, an adventure? These four individuals already have superpowers. We want to be as open as possible." It looks like they've got until 2027 to figure it out.
