Kings of Leon Get Fred Armisen to Direct Concert Webcast

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 26, 2013

Arena-friendly Southern rockers Kings of Leon will give their upcoming Mechanical Bull LP an extra push via a live concert stream directed by comedian/musician Fred Armisen.

The Associated Press reports that the former SNL star will sit behind the lens for the group's upcoming "American Express Unstaged" performance on August 9 at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in London. The concert will be streamed via YouTube and Vevo.

This marks the 13th entry into the live concert series, which has also streamed sets from the likes of Vampire Weekend (as directed by Steve Buscemi), Coldplay and Arcade Fire.

On top of appearing on SNL and his Portlandia sketch show with Wild Flag's Carrie Brownstein, Armisen has directed music videos for bands like the Helio Sequence and is a musician himself.

As previously reported, Mechanical Bull hits stores September 24 via RCA. You can stream first single "Supersoaker" down below.
