Smash Hits!!!, the debut record of this ska band out of Halifax, starts off blasting at you right away. High octane and high energy, this bouncing ska will have you dancing in your seat and you won't stop until it's done. Mixing their fast-paced ska with rock, R&B elements and the occasional toasting, they've come across a stellar formula. The vocals are distinctive with a raspy style - Dicky Barrett, if Dicky Barrett could sing. Fun lyrics ranging from monkeys, chicken, girls and, occasionally, politics, complete with infectious chorus lines. They top it all off with a cover of the Who's "I Can't Explain." This record rocks all the way through and you won't be able to get these songs out of your head for days after the first listen, not like you'd want to.
