Kim Gordon's memoir Girl in a Band is due out next week (February 24), and it's already making headlines thanks to the musician's no-holds-barred critiques of some of her contemporaries. Now, Gordon has shared audio of her reading the first few pages of the book on Billboard's The Alt in Our Stars podcast, where she also premiered a new track.
The song is called "Close Your Eyes," and Gordon wrote it for Nick Mauss' 2014 ballet 1NVERS1ONS. It's a curious, experimental track consisting of distorted, atonal guitar strums, wordless moans and honking harmonica. The song starts at the 18:29 mark in the podcast below.
