The Killers

"Boots" (video)

What did we tell you? The Christmas cuts just keep coming, this time courtesy of the Killers' "Boots." Though at first, the yuletide number sounds like a standard glossy ballad from the outfit, by mid-song a surge of tubular bells will get you in the holiday spirit.

Frontman Brandon Flowers, who just might be the only Killers member in the clip, also waxes nostalgic on watching It's a Wonderful Life and the process of kicking the snow off your boots before you come inside.

As for the video, it's a genteel redemption clip about a homeless man who has apparently lost his family. The guy manages to secure a busted up boombox and takes to busking in the streets to make some dough. After scraping enough cash together to buy some gifts from a dollar store, he returns to his home, Santa stocking on his head, and hooks up with his family again. It's a little sappy, but aren't we all this time of year?
