Kids on TV Recruit Diamond Rings, Katie Stelmanis, Gentleman Reg for 'Pantheon'

Toronto electro-punk unit Kids on TV haven't released an album since 2007's Mixing Business with Pleasure, but evidently they've spent the time in the interim rounding up some stellar guest contributors for the follow-up. Entitled Pantheon, it will arrive on September 4 via Blocks Recording Club.

This morning (June 4), we posted the new video for "Bobby," the lead single that features Snax and Toronto pop sensation Diamond Rings. The full-length will also include contributions from Austra's Katie Stelmanis, Gentleman Reg, Yo Majesty's Shunda K and the Pining's Julie Faught.

2Bmag quotes Kids on TV as saying that "Pantheon is an attempt at celebrating the historical and fictional figures of our personal and collective mythologies." They added that the album inhabits "the intersections of queer and art and academic and activist communities," and is said to include emotionally charged lyrics about AIDS, substance abuse, the sex trade and more.

Watch the video for "Bobby" below, and purchase it from iTunes if you're suitably impressed.
