Published Dec 28, 2009While Kanye West's HBO series never got off the ground, hip-hop newcomer Kid Cudi seems to be having much more luck with the network. Following the release of Man on the Moon earlier this year, Cudi has revealed that he'll be making TV the next step in his career.
Speaking with The Boom Box [via Digital Spy], Cudi revealed that he's landed a leading role in a new show from Entourage creator (and former Funky Bunch ringleader) Mark Wahlberg on a new show called How to Make It in America.
According to Cudi, he's worked hard to distinguish himself from his musical persona, saying, "It was important to me early on to branch away from music and actually do something outside my comfort zone... When we were developing my character with the writers, I was telling them, 'Man, I don't want to be anything that has to do with music', just because that's not really acting."
It was probably quite easy for Cudi to unlock his emotions on set. After all, it only takes a misplaced wallet to throw him into an impassioned rage.
