Rumblings of a new My Bloody Valentine EP appeared shortly after the shoegaze greats delivered their m b v comeback in 2013, and it looks as if the band will soon be hitting the studio to track the mini follow-up.

Band leader Kevin Shields confirmed as much to the NME last night (June 19) at a concert by the Proper Ornaments in London. Though the specifics were scant, Shields said he's been "working on some new songs at the moment." He added that the band "plan on going into the studio October/November time," though an ETA for the EP has not yet been decided upon.

Last year, Shield had also talked up the idea of unearthing tracks from the band's archive for an online project, though a plan to put up the rarities has yet to be unveiled. He said of the concept, though, "we want to do a site where everyone who bought a record would be able to stream various other things we put up, like an old recording of when I first experimented with pitch-bending back in '81."
