Kestrels Sign to Sonic Unyon for 'A Ghost History' LP, Share New Video

Shoegaze-influenced pop rock trio Kestrels have built a buzz for themselves via a couple of seven-inches and their 2009 LP Primary Colours, and the Halifax band's next step finds them inking a deal with well-respected Canadian indie Sonic Unyon for their upcoming album, A Ghost History.

The two sides will team up to issue the full-length on June 5. While the band have yet to unveil the tracklisting, they recently offered up first single "There All the Time Without You" for free on their Bandcamp page. You can also check out a video for new number "Pasts Rests," directed, produced and filmed by James Brown of Mostly Harmless Productions, down below.

While the disc's "satisfying shoegaze soundscapes" were primarily tracked by vocalist/guitarist Chad Peck, bassist Devin Peck and drummer Paul Brown, A Ghost History also features Britpop vet Tim Wheeler of Ash delivering a guest guitar solo. It's still unclear just what jam he blazes on, though.

Before the disc drops, Kestrels will head off on a quick Canadian trip away from the Maritimes this month that will hit up five cities across Ontario and Quebec. You can see the details down below.
