Kestrels Announce 'The Moon Is Shining Our Way' EP, Book Summer Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 17, 2014

Kestrels' 2012 album A Ghost History is history, and now the noisy Halifax trio are ready to return with The Moon Is Shining Out Way. It's due out on July 1 through Sonic Unyon Records.

The album was recorded at Toronto's Dream House Studios with Alex Bonenfant (METZ, Crystal Castles). Mixing was handled by Claudius Mittendorfer (Johnny Marr, Neon Indian, Interpol).

A press release describes the resulting four songs as "fuzz pop gems," noting that the EP captures the band's live style. The cover art is above and the tracklist is below; at the bottom of the page, watch a video for the melodically shoegazing title track.

Also below, check out the band's tour schedule. It includes a number of U.S. shows, a few Ontario gigs and a Montreal stop.
