Taylor Swift garnered plenty of public support for her strong testimony in court last week, and now another singer with a history of fighting sexual assault in the public eye has spoken up, as well.

Kesha tweeted her support for Swift this morning (August 14), applauding the 1989 singer for her "strength and fearlessness," adding: "Truth is always the answer."
During Kesha's own high-profile court appearances last year in conjunction with her lawsuit alleging sexual, physical and emotional abuse against producer Dr. Luke, Swift made a sizeable $250,000 USD donation "to help with any of her financial needs during this trying time."

Closing arguments in Swift's case were read aloud in a Denver courtroom today. In a countersuit to former radio DJ David Mueller's accusations that Swift caused him to lose his job (a complaint that the judge has already dismissed), the pop star alleges that Mueller sexually assaulted her by groping her backside during a 2013 meet-and-greet.

As the Canadian Press reports, Swift sat next to her mother and cried as Mueller's lawyer read his final statement. In it, he questioned why Swift was seen smiling in a photo taken during the alleged sexual assault and claimed that her testimony was inconsistent with the testimony of other individuals on her team.

Swift's lawyer, meanwhile, closed by telling jurors that Swift was taking a stand for all women by reiterating that "No means no." Her counterclaim against Mueller is asking jurors to "return a verdict for a single dollar, a single symbolic dollar, the value of which is immeasurable to all women in this situation."
