Way before Kendrick Lamar was one of the hottest rappers in the world, he released music at K.Dot, and now an old song from that era has emerged on Reddit.
The song is called "Hub City's Wild Side." It's not entirely clear when it was recorded, but it seems to be from well before Lamar's 2011 release Section.80. It was produced by T.dot Fasheeze, and while there's no question that King Kendrick's rap skills have grown significantly since then, the track tackles some of his most familiar subjects: gang violence and his hometown. ("Hub City" is a nickname for Compton, CA.)
