Here's a song title we can certainly relate to: "So I Shotgunned a Rootbeer (Ate a Large 'Za) and Went to Bed." That's the name of a song from punk-y British Columbia band Ken Jennings, whose She's My Rushmore 7-inch will be coming out on Kingfisher Bluez on November 1.
The disc consists of three tracks. Opener "Troy Lemberg (Still) Looks Like a Cat" is a fiery blast that lasts for just 16 seconds. After that, "Why Does He Get to Be Bukowski?" opens with an extended clip from Dumb & Dumber before shifting into a sloppy rocker, while the aforementioned "So I Shotgunned a Rootbeer (Ate a Large 'Za) and Went to Bed" is more wistful, and begins with a clip from How I Met Your Mother.
These songs were recorded by Trevor Robson. Take a listen below, and pre-order a 7-inch on Bandcamp. The band will release the 7-inch with a house show in Langley (just outside Vancouver) on November 1; Open Letters, Dead Soft, Wild Kingdom and Shit Kings are also on the bill.
