Kelp Records Expands 20th Anniversary Celebrations with Vinyl Reissues of Andy Swan and Andrew Vincent & the Pirates

Last month, Kelp Records announced plans to celebrate its 20th anniversary with a couple of special gigs, plus a reissue from the Acorn. Now, the Ottawa imprint has expanded those plans with a couple more reissues.

This month, Kelp will be giving two past releases their first-ever vinyl pressings. Andrew Vincent & the Pirates' 2003 album I Love the Modern Way will be coming to wax, as will Andy Swan's 2007 album Ottawa.

Each of these will be limited to just 100 copies. They're available to pre-order now from Kelp's website, and purchasers in Ottawa are invited to a private listening party on May 30 to pick up their records.

In other 20th anniversary news, Kelp has shared a massive retrospective mixtape on SoundCloud. The hour-and-a-half-long compilation includes material by the Acorn, Hilotrons, New Country Rehab, Andy Swan, Andrew Vincent & the Pirates, Jim Bryson, Ohbijou and more. Listen here.

Don't forget that Kelp will be hosting a Toronto show at the Horseshoe Tavern on May 29 and an Ottawa show on May 31 at Barrymore's Music Hall. These gigs will feature the Acorn and something called "Kelp Revue with the Flaps," as well as Jim Bryson, Evening Hymns, Andrew Vincent, Chris Page, Andy Swan, Rhume, Flecton Big Sky and more promised "special guests."

There will also be a warm-up Ottawa gig on May 30 at Avalon Studios, featuring snacks, drinks and DJ sets.
