Keith Richards Completes First New Solo Album Since 1992

Keith Richards hasn't released a solo album since 1992's Main Offender, but the legendary Rolling Stones guitarist apparently has another one on the way.

Speaking with the Associated Press about his new children's book, Keef added that he has a solo record finished, but it likely won't come out until 2015.

"I don't want to put it out while the Stones are working, so I'm thinking next June," he said.

The album was produced by longtime collaborator Steve Jordan, who was in Richards' band the X-Pensive Winos and co-produced both of the guitarist's previous solo albums. The new LP was recorded in pieces over the last couple of years. "Every month or two we'd come down here and do a couple a day and knock off a couple of tracks," the crinkly septuagenarian said.

Today (September 9) marks the release of Richards' kids book, Gus & Me: The Story of My Granddad and My First Guitar.
