Montreal-based producer Kaytranada told us about the wealth of unreleased material he recorded with BADBADNOTGOOD and Little Dragon when we spoke to him about his major label debut 99.9% earlier this month. Now, the artist has revealed that more new music may be closer than we think.
Sitting down with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio this afternoon (May 31), the producer hinted at the arrival of a new mixtape titled 0.01%, which he said he's at work on right now.
"I'm coming up with a mixtape, y'all don't know about that," he told Lowe. "It's on its way. It's going to be wild."
Speaking about the vocalists who appear on 99.9%, the producer also revealed he has recently recorded additional material with Anderson .Paak, Mick Jenkins, Kali Uchis and Vic Mensa.
Along with talking about the new record, Kaytranada dropped his remix of Rihanna's Anti cut "Kiss It Better," driven by gentle piano chords until a dominant rhythm section drives the chorus through a series of bouncy, inventive key changes.
99.9% is out now through XL Recordings. Hear Kaytranada give Rihanna the remix treatment in the player below.
