As September and summer fade into the rearview, we're welcoming the month of October in our typical weekly fashion by scouring our Concert Listings for the best shows coming to Canada from September 29 to October 5. This week's picks include international superstar Adele and a bevy of Canadian heavy-hitters, including newly crowned Polaris Prize-winner Kaytranada, songwriter Lisa LeBlanc, Royal Canoe and Tokyo Police Club. Adele
 
Adele broke all kinds of records when she released her critically acclaimed album 25 last year. She's been on tour in North America since July and will be in Toronto and Montreal this week to belt out all of your favourite heartbreaking tunes.

Animal Collective
 
Animal Collective released Painting With in February, drawing inspiration from Cubism and channelling the work of Jackson Pollock. The experimental pop troupe are on the road until the end of November, and will be in Alberta this week.

FORMS Festival
 
Running from September 28 to 30, the inaugural FORMS Festival celebrates the integration of creativity and technology, as well as artists and thinkers who challenge convention. Catch the experimental sounds of DJ Bambii, Nonotak, Brigitte Bardon't and Laurel Halo during the three-day fest.

Kaytranada
 
Polaris Prize-winning producer Kaytranada will head to Vancouver this week for his last Canadian stop for a while. Fresh off of releasing his 0.001% mixtape, expect to hear some new tracks in addition to his signature blend of hip-hop, dance and R&B.

Before officially releasing her album Why You Wanna Leave, Runaway Queen? on September 30, Acadian folk-rocker Lisa LeBlanc is holding her album launch on September 29 in Montreal.

Red Bull Music Academy
 
The 2016 Red Bull Music Academy is in Montreal from September 24 to October 28 to celebrate Canadian and international music culture. This week's sets features an array of talent, including a celebration of Quebec's influential metal, noise and drone vanguards on September 30; electronic music from the likes of Theo Parrish and Suzanne Ciani on October 2 and 3; and French-Canadian pianist Jean-Michel Blais on October 5.

Royal Canoe
 
Much of Royal Canoe's latest album, Something Got Lost Between Here and the Orbit, deals with the highs and lows of technology, and if their show in Hamilton, ON is any indication of what to expect, they'll be exploring that tension live, shifting between analog and electronic sounds.

Tokyo Police Club
 
Tokyo Police Club began their tour with fellow Canadian indie darlings Born Ruffians and the Elwins just a few days after releasing Melon Collie and the Infinite Radness (Part 2). Born Ruffians will be on board for all five of the dates listed below, and the Elwins will join both bands in Red Deer, Lethbridge and Nelson.
