Kathryn Calder Hits Up BC on West Coast Tour, Sets Sights on New LP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 4, 2011

Kathryn Calder released her solo debut last summer, but her busy schedule with the New Pornographers means that fans haven't had much of a chance to catch the singer-songwriter live on her own. That will change this spring, however, as Calder will be hitting the road in North America for a West Coast tour.

Most of the shows are in the U.S., as she will be going through Washington, Oregon and California. She also has some British Columbia dates on the horizon: April 9 in Duncan and May 20 in Vancouver.

All of the May dates are with Himalayan Bear. There's also one show with the New Pornographers and another with K Records songsmith Karl Blau.

By the time the tour wraps, it's possible that Calder will be ready to release her sophomore LP. In a recent update on her official blog, she wrote, "I have almost finished my new record! Just a bit of mixing left to do, and then it'll be time to work on all the stuff that goes around the release of a record."

See the schedule below, and stay tuned for more updates about the new record.
