Kathleen Edwards recently returned with her first new material in eight years, and following the comeback single "Options Open," the Ontario singer-songwriter has now shared another track from the upcoming Total Freedom. "Birds on a Feeder" is available to stream now.
Compared with the steady folk-rock grooves of "Options Open," "Birds on a Feeder" is a hushed ballad, its gentle finger-picking flecked with ambient piano textures and image-rich lyrics about a life of quiet domesticity. The chorus features Total Freedom's title lyric.
