Katatonia Team Up with Cult of Luna for Fall North American Tour, Play Toronto

Katatonia hit up North American this spring with Opeth, but they have now announced plans to return in the fall for a co-headlining tour with fellow Swedish metal makers Cult of Luna.

The outing is a relatively short one, with a dozen shows within two weeks. In that time, the bands will travel from the eastern part of the U.S. all the way to the West Coast, along the way heading up to Canada for a Toronto on September 27. See the schedule below.

For this so-called "Uncrowned & Vertikal Tour, the headliners will be joined on the road by openers Intronaut and TesseracT. Tickets go on sale starting August 9.

Katatonia frontman Jonas Renkse said in a statement, "Since we have been touring your continent quite a bit the last few years, we thought it was about time to re-decorate the good ol' setlist a little. Right now we are rehearsing and going through some of our hidden gems, songs that we haven't yet picked up or rarely have played live before. It will probably be as exciting for you as it is for us!

"Please note that it won't be an 'old-school' party, but an evening with atmosphere so thick you could cut it with a knife! Oh, and we will probably have time to play some of the 'hits' as well. All in all, we will squeeze out as much Katatonia as possible each and every night, so let's do this one together once again, shall we?"

Both of the headlining acts have international dates of their own. See Katatonia's schedule here and Cult of Luna's here.
