Katatonia Robbed While on the Road

It's an all-too common story: another band has had their gear stolen while on the road. This time, the victims were Swedish metalheads Katatonia, who were robbed during a stop in St. Paul's, MN.

The band wrote about the experience in a press release, complaining, "Tonight's gig reached an all time low. Two of our guitars got stolen (including our straps with wireless transmitters), obviously causing performance difficulties, frustration and anger."

Katatonia were planning on giving the two guitars away later in the tour as part of a contest that was launched to celebrate the band's first North American headlining tour in three years. The band asks that fans be on the lookout for two Mayones guitars in pawn shops and on Craiglist and eBay.

The group still have two weeks left in their North American tour. This includes a performance in Vancouver on Wednesday (September 22). Hopefully the band's anger translates into an extra-fiery performance.
