Kasabian

Kasabian

BY Liz WorthPublished Feb 1, 2005

Currently the UK’s it band, Kasabian combine a dark, sparse style with flecks of the Stone Roses and updated Brit acts like the Streets. Mixed by Jim Abbis, whose reputation reaches back to working with Björk, Massive Attack, UNKLE and Placebo, much of the album was self-produced otherwise, giving the sound organic warmth. As these four rumoured anarchists quickly gather fans into what they call the Movement (to become a participating Kasabian fan), it’s only a matter of time before their sound invades Canada. It’s been too long since a truly decent band has come out of the UK with the potential to become a household name, but the Movement is about to change all that.
