Karkwa's Louis-Jean Cormier Announces Solo Album, Books Quebec Tour

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 5, 2012

Karkwa have yet to officially follow up their Polaris Music Prize-winning album Les Chemins de Verre, but while they take a break from the road, singer-guitarist Louis-Jean Cormier is making the most of the downtime by releasing his first solo album.

The title of the LP has not yet been announced, but it's slated to come out on September 18 through Simone Records. Head over to Cormier's official website to listen to the folksy lead single "L'ascenseur."

This follows hot on the heels of Karkwa's live collection, simply titled Live, which is available right here.

Cormier will promote his solo album with an extensive tour of Quebec. Curiously, the tour won't begin until the fall and will last all the way until spring 2013, meaning that some of these gigs won't be taking place for close to a year. Clearly the dude likes to plan ahead. See the schedule below.
