From his massive mountain sets to illuminated "floating" platforms, Kanye West's stage design is an important part of his latest live dates. However, his distaste for more conventional settings have now ruled him out of playing Coachella 2019.
As TMZ reports, negotiations between West and festival organizers fell apart when it came to determining his stage setup. TMZ reports that West felt a traditional 60x40 foot stage was "artisically limiting."
A source close to West told the site, "These 40×60 stages are so archaic. It's the same type of stage on which Shakespeare's works were performed hundreds of years ago."
Based on another of his recent Twitter sprees, it's hard to imagine West getting a warm reception in Indio, CA, if he makes good on the promise to wear his custom one-of-one Dragon Energy™ Trump hat while performing. Maybe he'll discuss it on a podcast with Joe Rogan. Maybe we should log off.

West had been rumoured to headline the 2019 edition of Coachella this past October, alongside Justin Timberlake and Childish Gambino. No official lineup announcements have been made. Coachella's 2018 festival was headlined by Beyoncé, the Weeknd and Eminem. One of my favorite of many things about what the Trump hat represents to me is that people can't tell me what to do because I'm black
