Kanye West Won't Be Releasing Music on CD Anymore

While the second coming of G.O.O.D. Fridays went off the rails fairly quick, Kanye West's renewed presence on Twitter certainly hasn't. Today, the music icon sat down at his keyboard to announce he won't be releasing any future records on compact disc from this point forward, much to the displeasure of hip-hop heads who still buy physical albums.

In a series of tweets today, West revealed he had thoughts about not releasing his work on the format ever again, making the move to exclusively releasing music via streaming websites (though presumably only Jay Z's TIDAL). He then made reference to the minimalistic packaging of his 2013 disc Yeezuscalling it "an open casket to CDs."

Seemingly all but confirming the announcement, a final tweet on the matter read "so there it is... No more CDs from me." Some more stream-of-consciousness tweeting saw the man urging people to be themselves and promoting "###hashtag all positive vibes."
