Kanye West to Release New Solo Album After G.O.O.D. Music Compilation

There's a lot of anticipation for Kanye West fans as they await the arrival of his G.O.O.D. Music collaborative album Cruel Summer on August 7. When that date finally arrives, however, it'll be time to start getting pumped up for the rapper's sixth solo album and follow-up to 2010's acclaimed My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

Longtime Kanye collaborator and friend No I.D. recently told MTV News that a new Yeezy album would be dropping "right after" Cruel Summer. While we don't know what that exactly means in a world where rap albums are delayed for months and even years, he did confirm that he's hard at work on some new tracks with 'Ye.

"I'm not working on that [Cruel Summer] album, I'm working on his album," he said of Kanye's upcoming sixth studio effort. "This is Kanye. You know what to expect from the family. He hasn't missed yet, so don't expect him to miss."

While that's about as much as we've got by way of tangible details, No I.D. also hinted that we should keep our anticipations high for the release, saying, "It's what you expect and everything you don't expect."
