Published Jan 03, 2011While we were hoping for a little less Kanye West in our 2011 coverage, the ego-maniacal news magnet already has us clacking our keyboards on the first work day of the year. To be fair, it's due to a potentially big announcement, as Ye may have revealed the release date for his buzz-worthy Jay-Z collaboration, Watch the Throne.
Hypetrak points to a clip of Kanye West performing at Las Vegas's Marquee nightclub on New Year's Eve, alongside Jay-Z and Rihanna. In between sips of expensive alcohol and speaker-exploding bass, you can make out Ye announcing that Watch the Throne is "coming in one week." The video is playable below.
Of course, rap albums are notoriously unreliable with their release dates, so we would normally take Kanye's announcement with a healthy dose of skepticism. But one week from New Year's Eve is a Friday, so it could fit into Ye's ever-changing G.O.O.D. Friday release schedule.
In other words, 2011 is starting off as Kanye's year once again.
