Believe it or not, it seems Kanye West could have been following in the footsteps of Britney Spears and Celine Dion. Yeezy was reportedly offered a massive paycheque to perform a Las Vegas residency, but he turned it down. This would have reportedly made him the highest paid performer on the Strip.

According to TMZ, the rapper was offered $4.5 million for nine shows — three shows per week for three weeks. Do some quick math in your head, and you'll find that this would have been worth half a million per show.

Had Kanye said yes, he would have been performing at the Axis Theater at Planet Hollywood. During these shows, he would have been earning more than either Britney or (the currently on-hiatus) Celine; they earn $475,000 per-show and $476,000 per-show, respectively.

We'd like to point out that a Vegas show could have been the solution to Kanye's touring problems. When touring behind Yeezus last year, he cancelled some of his lavishly executed shows due to routing logistics and highway accidents; a Vegas residency would have changed all that.

Speaking of Yeezus, a demo version of the beat from "New Slaves" has now emerged. This track, by producer Benjamin Bronfman, was originally called "Cruel Cold Winter." It sounds very different from the harsh, aggressive "New Slaves," but the chilling main riff is the same. Hear that below [via Rolling Stone].

Kanye's new album is still forthcoming.
