Kanye West abruptly ended a performance in New York tonight (October 2) after being alerted that his wife, Kim Kardashian, had been held up at gunpoint in Paris.

West was performing a headlining set at the Meadows Music & Arts Festival when he was approached on-stage and told of the incident. As you can see via fan-shot footage from the show, he quickly cut short a performance of "Heartless," telling the crowd: "I'm sorry, there's a family emergency, I have to stop the show."

Shortly after West left the stage, CNN reported that Kardashian had been held up at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room. A spokesperson for the celebrity explained that two men impersonating police officers broke into her room and held her at gunpoint.

"Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers. She is badly shaken but physically unharmed," spokesperson Ina Treciokas told CNN.

It's unclear at present time how Kardashian was extracted from the situation. She is currently in France attending Paris Fashion Week with her family.

UPDATE (10/4, 9 a.m. EDT): Kanye West has rescheduled two upcoming shows on his Saint Pablo tour. He'll now play Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center on December 13, and Detroit's Palace of Auburn Hills on December 22.
