Kanye West Finally Announces Release Date for New Album

Can we just go ahead and call this a G.O.O.D. Monday? Following last week's leak of "Lost in the World," it seemed as if Kanye West was through with us. The hip-hop mogul was so pissed over the unsanctioned upload that he almost called off last week's G.O.O.D. Friday program. Thankfully, he had a last-minute change of heart and delivered "Christian Dior Denim Flow."

Things got even better on Saturday (October 2) when Ye gave us the goods again with two awe-inspiring, high-concept rap/conceptual dance mash-ups on Saturday Night Live. It seems that West is feeling even more generous this week, as he's finally announced the release date for his as-yet-untitled fifth album.

Despite all sorts of speculation as to when this thing is actually coming out, the eccentric rapper has settled on a date, via his Twitter account.

He wrote: "L.A. Ried[sic] who's doing a great job at Def Jam. We gone kill it again November 22nd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even with the leaks fam."

If you didn't catch that, the album will be released, leaks be damned, by Def Jam - which is still run by L.A. Reid, despite rumours of his impending sacking - on November 22. The only weird thing here is November 22 is a Monday, and as new-album buyers know, release dates are typically Tuesday in North America.

Though we've been cranking it for a couple of weeks now, the disc's second official, single "Runaway," which he and Pusha T skilfully slayed on SNL, by the way, was released today (October 4) on iTunes.
