Kanye West refuses to give us but a morsel of information regarding his upcoming new LP, but the rapper-producer has clearly come close to finishing the material. Over the weekend, after a performance at Birmingham's Wireless Festival, he took part in a DJ set at a private club. It was there that he played 20 brand new songs.
Attendees weren't allowed to use an audio or video equipment during the set, but we've learned that Kanye did indeed play tracks alongside his associate Virgil Abloh. Attendees described the music as "hellish," "groundshaking" and "dark." So we're probably not going to be hearing more chipmunk soul loops from Kanye any time soon.
Below, you can check out a few tweets from the event, as well as an Instagram image of Kanye from user Brandon Sales.
Thanks to Vulture for the tip.
