Kanye West Called Out for Using Phone at Broadway Premiere of 'The Cher Show'

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian attended the premiere of the new Cher-inspired Broadway show The Cher Show last night (December 3), and the rapper was called out by one of the stars for using his phone during the performance.

Despite obvious audience conduct rules, West was spotted using his phone during the opening night performance — and the actor playing Sonny Bono called him out on it.

Midway through the performance, Jarrod Spector took to Twitter to remind West, "If you look up from your cellphone you'll see we're doing a show up here."

Spector added, "It's opening night. Kind of a big deal for us. Thanks so much."

A representative for West told the New York Times that he had been using his phone to take notes about the show, and that he was "incredibly impressed by the production."

West later tweeted back an apology to Spector, revealing that he and Kardashian got emotional while watching the production and that they "have so much appreciation for the energy you guys put into making this master piece."

Kardashian's love for Cher and Bono was well documented in 2017, when she and pal Jonathan Cheban dressed as the famous former couple for Halloween.

Cher was also in attendance for opening night of The Cher Show — and she seemed to have a wild late night following the performance, but didn't take to Twitter to talk about it until hours later.

The Cher Show is now running at the Neil Simon Theatre in New York City.
