No stranger to making albums of Epic proportions, sax man Kamasi Washington has now announced that his next full-length release will be a double album.
Taking to Twitter today, Washington announced that his forthcoming LP will be titled Heaven and Earth. While a release date has yet to be confirmed, it's expected that the album will arrive through Young Turks, who did their part to share the news. The label handled the release of Washington's Harmony of Difference EP.
Washington outlines the album's makeup in an additional post, which included photography from B+ and Mike Park. Of the double LP, Washington wrote that "the Earth side represents the world as I see it outwardly, the world that I am a part of. The Heaven side represents the world as I see it inwardly, the world that is a part of me."
Recently, Washington made contributions to XL's Everything Is Recorded LP.

So happy to announce my new project, a double album called "Heaven and Earth!" The Earth side represents the world as I see it outwardly, the world that I am a part of.
