Published Aug 28, 2013Ottawa indie folk outfit Kalle Mattson have issued a steady stream of material over the last few years and will next serve up a two-song single intended to tease a forthcoming LP. The "An American Dream" / "Darkness" mini-release arrives on 7-inch via Parliament of Trees on October 1.
The songs were recorded at Toronto's Lincoln County Social Club with producer Gavin Gardiner (the Wooden Sky), and a press release notes that both will appear on an LP due sometime early in 2014. While few other details exist on the as-yet-unnamed LP, the record also features performances from Jeremy Fisher, as well as members of Cuff the Duke and the Wooden Sky. It will be the band's first full-length since 2011's Anchors, though they issued the Lives in Between EP in 2012.
While we wait for the details on the album to arrive, you can sample the distortion-drenched indie roots number "An American Dream" down below.
Kalle Mattson will also be heading out on the road later this fall for a quick Canadian tour between BC and Quebec. You can see the tour schedule down below, though more dates are expected to be added to the trip.
