Kaada

Thank You for Giving Me Your Valuable Time

BY Andrew SteenbergPublished Jun 1, 2003

Norwegian knob-twiddler Kaada finally brings his debut solo album to North America a full two years after its European release. Tough break for the boy, because in relation to modern electro-pop records, Thank You for Giving Me Your Valuable Time really shows its age. The playful disc dumps live and sampled ’60s soul over fractured beats and a fjord full of brassy sounds but this anachronistic big beat approach comes off sounding stale. Still, it’s a fun, unpretentious album, which all five of you Fatboy Slim fans should dig up.
