k-os Details 'Atlantis: Hymns for Disco' Reissue, Teases New Album Exec-Produced by Drake

The award-winning artist is also touring Canada this month

k-os has revealed a reissue of his third studio album Atlantis: Hymns for Disco. Titled Atlantis+, the expanded edition arrives digitally and as a 2LP blue vinyl set on May 3 via Universal Music Canada.

Originally released in Canada on October 10, 2006, and worldwide on February 20, 2007, Atlantis: Hymns for Disco achieved platinum sales certification in Canada on the strength of its single "Sunday Morning," and features contributions from Sam Roberts, Kevin Drew, Buck 65, Ian Kamau, Rahzel and Sebastien Grainger.

"After the conscious nature of Joyful Rebellion, I wanted to make a record that had a more pop sensibility and didn’t take itself that seriously," k-os reflects. "The formula and equation for Atlantis is … Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue."

For the album's vinyl debut and digital rerelease, the expanded Atlantis+ now features previously unreleased tracks "Chocolate Chewing Gum" (originally hidden following "Ballad of Noah"), "I FeLL 4 Her!," the "Block Party Mix" of "Sunday Morning," and "Invulnerable" — the last of which you can hear in the player below.

k-os offers of the unearthed track, "Invulnerable means 'impossible to damage' and I've found that if you love what you do and have gifts to offer the world… then you can absorb hate, apathy, negativity and shoot it back into the world transformed as a laser beam of inspiration."

The Atlantis+ reissue isn't all k-os has in store for 2024. A press release teases that the artist will share a new album titled Everyone in Your Dream Is You "later this year," which has been executive-produced by Drake. It will mark the first full-length LP from k-os since 2015's Can't Fly Without Gravity.

Additionally, Atlantis+ precedes forthcoming 2024 reissues of k-os's 2002 debut Exit and Joyful Rebellion. Last year, the former was nominated for the 2023 Slaight Family Polaris Heritage Prize

Until those arrive, k-os is currently touring in British Columbia, ahead of dates in Ontario this March. You can find his itinerary below, with further tour details here.
