Justice

"New Lands" (A-Trak remix)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 11, 2012

While Exclaim! remarked that Justice's "New Lands," off last year's Audio, Video, Disco, was "too cheese-ball for those who like their house dark and gritty," it's not stopping the celebrated electronic duo from releasing the track as their next single. That said, purists may prefer the mini-package's new, club-pumping remix courtesy of A-Trak.

The lengthy redo skimps out on those '70s-style butt-rock guitars, choosing instead to fuel the tune with a thick, four-on-the-floor beat and buzz-bomb synth lead. Most of the song's poppy falsetto vocals have been taken out, too, though a chanted "ayyy" runs through the bulk of the remix. You can check out the propulsive, clubby thud down below.

Justice's "New Lands" single, also featuring a live take and reworked versions from Sebastian and Falcon, arrives June 26 through Ed Banger.
