To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Juno Awards, the organizers have decided to put together four tribute nights in Toronto, celebrating the music of the last four decades. We have already seen tributes to the '70s and '80s. This Saturday (February 5), the third instalment in the series will be coming the Horseshoe Tavern, as the Junos will be paying tribute to the '90s.

Anyone who followed Canadian music in the '90s will be sure to recognize some of the names on the bill, with the evening featuring appearances from members of Sloan, the Rheostatics, Treble Charger, Lowest of the Low and hHead. Also on the bill are Grand Analog, Michie Mee, Dream Warriors, Dinosaur Bones, Chore, Tristan Psionic, and Choclair. Wade MacNeil of Alexisonfire/Black Lung will also appear.

The event is being produced by Dine Alone Records and Bedlam Music Mgmt. See a longer list of performers on Facebook.

These artists will be playing classic cuts from the '90s. Like last time, Exclaim! is holding a contest to commemorate the event. To participate, all you have to do is suggest a Canadian song from the '90s to be played by the Dine Alone house band. If your choice is selected, then you will win a CD prize pack from the label.

You can enter on Facebook or right here. (This writer's choice is embedded in the video below.)

Tickets for the event are $20. They are almost sold out, so to get yours, head down to the Horseshoe Tavern, Soundscapes or Rotate This. You can also get them online from Ticketmaster.
