Junius and Sólstafir Team Up for North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 27, 2014

Atmospheric rock combo Junius have had a busy 2014, having already tackled a headlining trip this year in support of their recent Days of the Fallen Sun, but the Boston band are set to hit the clubs again this spring, paying Canada a visit in the process.

The act's next stretch of shows is a relatively short one, with a press release confirming that the trip has them teaming up with Iceland's Sólstafir. Together they'll start the tour in Canada, performing at Toronto's Hard Luck Bar on May 15. From there, they'll dip beneath the border to play a handful of U.S. shows. You'll find all of the details down below.

As previously reported, Junius' latest EP is meant to act as the prequel to the their 2009 debut full-length The Martyrdom of a Catastrophist. Exclaim! noted that the EP balances the aggressive with the emotional, describing the sound as "somewhere between the intricacy and intimacy of atmospheric metal and the cinematic grandness of art rock." You'll find a stream of the set beneath the concert info.

As for Sólstafir, the Scandinavian outfit are still touring in support of their 2011 LP Svartir Sandar.
