Last year, José González took a break from his solo career to revisit his eclectic Junip trio. The group came together to record and release Fields and tour North America. Before he heads back to the solo acoustic jams, however, González will embark on another extensive North American tour.
As Junip announced on their official site, the dates see the group travelling to most corners of North America, including Canadian stops in Toronto on April 20 and Vancouver on May 3. The trip also includes a performance at Bonnaroo in June.
In our review of the band's performance in Vancouver last year, we said Junip "managed to summon the striking solemnity of Swedish fields ravaged by the elements of winter. In the live setting, they produced something well beyond that which can be heard on Fields, delivering tangible passion with their astonishingly complex arrangements."
