Junior Boys, Blood Orange and Rifflandia Lead This Week's Can't Miss Concerts

Before coming to terms with the beginning of autumn, check out one of this week's Can't Miss Concerts from September 15 to 21 and end summer '16 on a high note. Blood Orange
 
After releasing Freetown Sound earlier this year, Dev Hynes, also known as Blood Orange, began his "Welcome to Freetown" tour last month. With stops in select North American cities, Toronto is the only Canadian stop he'll be playing.

Bloor Ossington Folk Festival
 
Even though this is the last year of the Bloor Ossington Folk Festival, organizers have put together a solid lineup for the free two-day festival. This year features 17 artists, including Bart, the Cosmic Range, Eamon McGrath and the Idaho Stop. If you're in Toronto, head over to BOFF to give the festival the warm send-off it deserves.

Global Citizen: A Concert to End AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria
 
On September 17, Global Citizen is hosting a free concert in Montreal in support of the Global Fund to end AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. You'll need luck on your side to see the likes of Usher, Metric, Grimes and Half Moon Run, as tickets will be released for free via a lottery. Find more details here.

Junior Boys
 
After releasing their Big Black Coat LP and a four-track EP this year, Hamilton, ON electro duo Junior Boys will be passing through Western Canada with stops in Winnipeg, Regina, Edmonton and Calgary this week. Check out their dates below for the complete details.

Manifesto Festival of Community & Culture
 
Before Manifesto Festival wraps up this weekend, there's still time to see Big Lean, BJ the Chicago Kid, Anderson .Paak and Kaytranada. The festival ends with the Official Manifesto 10 After Party on September 17 and a free block party at Yonge-Dundas Square, featuring A Tribe Called Red, on September 18.

Rifflandia Festival
 
Now in its ninth year, Victoria's Rifflandia Festival will run from September 15 to 18 at Royal Athletic Park and on night stages throughout the city. The lineup is jam-packed with Jurassic 5, De La Soul, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Wolf Parade and more all slated to perform.

Royal Canoe
 
For the Winnipeg indie pop sextet's latest album release, Royal Canoe will be playing at Winnipeg's Burton Cummings Theatre. The album, Something Got Lost Between Here and the Orbit, will be officially released on September 16, and you can catch the group when they play at the Love & Records Festival in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Sigur Rós
 
After extending their North American tour, Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós will be in Vancouver for two dates during their stop in Canada. They'll also head to Toronto on October 3 for a show at Massey Hall.

Toronto Urban Roots Festival
 
Running from September 16 to 18, this year's Toronto Urban Roots Festival features four outdoor stages and 44 artists, including James Bay, Death Cab for Cutie, Barenaked Ladies and Jimmy Eat World. The shows go on, rain or shine, so be sure to catch some of the performances if you can.
